Patsy Ann “Pat” (Brody) Ulrey, age 87, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with dementia on July 30th, 2026.

Born on January 9, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Florence (McGuire) Brody and Jessie Brody, Pat graduated from Central High School and had a long career with Allstate Insurance. On March 16, 1957, she married the love of her life, Harold “Corky” Ulrey. Together they shared 39 wonderful years and raised their son, Brian. Over the course of her life, she made her home in Kansas City, Raytown, and Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Medina, Ohio; and finally, Appleton, Wisconsin.

Above all, Pat was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She spent much of her life as a natural caregiver, quietly looking after older relatives, family members, friends, and anyone who needed a helping hand. Pat gave so much of herself to others, often in quiet ways that may not have drawn attention but left a lasting mark. Her life was filled with countless acts of love, kindness, sacrifice, and friendship, and she changed lives simply by being who she was. Those who knew her will remember her gentle generosity, her thoughtful spirit, and the steady love she poured into the people around her.

She and Corky enjoyed simple pleasures together—especially fishing—and Pat never lost her sense of adventure. She took many bus tours across the country with Richard’s Fun Time Bus Tours, and the highlight of her travels came when she and her son Brian journeyed across Europe by bus and rail. Those trips remained among her most treasured memories. Closer to home, nothing brought her more happiness than the time she spent with Brian and Judy’s family for family events, holidays, and the grandchildren’s school activities as they grew.

Pat is survived by her son, Brian Ulrey; her daughter-in-law, Judith McCoy Ulrey; and her beloved grandchildren, Lucas Ulrey and Lian Ulrey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Brody; her father, Jessie Brody; her brother, Raymond Cross; and her husband, Harold Ulrey.

Her kindness, strength, and generous spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
