Winifred “Toots” Kathleen Erdmann went to the Lord’s loving arms on Thursday, April 2, 2026, just a few days before her birthday on April 10, 1928.
Toots was born in Appleton, WI to parents, Leo and Rosanna (Werner) Bock. She had a love for her savior and was a dedicated servant at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Toots served on the Ladies Aid, Alter Guild, the church choir, and a leader of the Girl Pioneers for many years.
Toots had a love for life and family. She kept busy cooking, baking, canning, and freezing vegetables from Bob’s garden. Crafting was a passion; with a basement of assorted crafting supplies to prove it. She also kept busy by knitting, weaving (she owned 5 looms), swimming, travel, music, playing the piano, and spending time at their cottage on Paya Lake by Lakewood, WI.
In the earlier years, Toots was a proud Appleton West graduate. She worked at the Quaker Dairy and as a supervisor at Zwickers Knitting Mill. She married the love of her life, Robert Erdmann on June 4, 1955 and together, they raised four children: Ronald, David, Becky, and Judy.
Toots is survived by her children, Ronald (Mary) Erdmann, David Erdmann, Becky (Timothy) Frommelt, and Judy (Vernon) Diemel; her grandchildren, Stephanie Erdmann, Nicholas (Brittany) Erdmann, Michele Franchini (Special Friend Mike), Benjamin Frommelt (Special Friend Kea), Amanda Walker, and Brooke Diemel; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Alex, Caleb, Miles, and Boone; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Toots is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Rosanna Bock; her husband, Robert Erdmann; her sisters, Janis (Ken) Zschaechner and Barbara Lovelace; her brother, Melvin Bock; her in-laws, Herb (Mary) Erdmann, Evelyn (Ted) Herman, Ada (Jack) Burton, and James (Marie) Erdman; her nephew, Tom Erdman; and her daughter-in-law, Susan Erdmann.
A funeral visitation will be held for Toots from 9-11 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, N8728 S. Coop Rd, Harrison, WI 54952 with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Toots will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Dementia Society of America at Dementia Society of America">http://Dementia Society of America. Its goal is to enhance the quality of life for those living with dementia, their caregivers, and the community! Toots struggled with dementia in the later years of life and we hope the donations help others.
Toots’ family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff at ThedaCare Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care, especially Ann, Cindy, and Beth for your kindness, compassion, and expertise shown to Toots during her time of need.
Toots will always be fondly remembered for her quick and easy smile, her laugh, and her generosity to share. “Need a dishcloth? I knit them – you want one?”
