William “Bill” Whitsitt, 84, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Renaissance Assisted Living.
Bill was born on September 24, 1926 in Duluth, Minnesota to JD and Albertina Whitsitt. He married Ruth Best on June 1, 1955 in Milwaukee. Bill worked as a chemical engineer in the paper industry at the Paper Institute and was known for the research he did on corrugated board paper. He was a member of TAPPI and became a TAPPI Fellow in 1990. Bill was an avid woodworker and built many pieces of furniture and he loved photography taking 1000’s of photos.
Bill is survived by his wife Ruth, Appleton, one son Andy, Madison, a cousin Barbara Gann of California, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandmother Bessie who raised him.
Bill was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed. Bill’s wishes were to donate his body to science and there will be no services.
