William G. Reeves

William G. Reeves, a chemist who worked as a research scientist for Kimberly Clark died Friday morning, August 22, 2025, at Peabody Manor. He was 79. At KC, he researched a super-absorbency project, which affected multiple lines of products, such as Huggies and Depends for adults. Bill was born on May 12, 1946, in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania. His mother, Margaret Gordon Reeves, was head nurse at a city hospital; his father Grover “Bud” Cleveland Reeves was trained as an elite paratrooper, and served in WWII in North Africa, Sicily and the D-Day invasions.

Bill earned his PhD in 1976 from the State University of New York at Albany, where he was enrolled with a bachelor’s degree from Boys’ High in Philadelphia, and a second bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania. As an outgrowth of his profound faith, he also served on the board of the Salvation Army, and at All Saints Episcopal Church he served as Superintendent of Sunday School, Chalice Bearer, and he was active in Cursillo.

Bill had many hobbies including weaving rugs, bread baking, and taking part in classes at the Appleton YMCA. Family was his other joy! He married Janice “Jan” Billman in 1970. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by two sons, Matthew David (Kate) and Benjamin Daniel (Petra), as well as two beloved granddaughters, Zoe and Ayla Jane, and two sisters, Diane (Ben) Pak, and Linda Carsello.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday September 13, 2025, at 10:00am at All Saints Episcopal Church,100 N Drew St, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until the service begins.
