William Paul "Bill" Zak

March 12, 1948 — July 5, 2021

William “Bill” Zak, age 73, of Appleton, passed away on July 5, 2021 at his home. His wife, sons and daughter in law at his side. Bill was born on March 12, 1948 in Neenah to Chester and Marion (Mayer) Zak. In his youth he was able to hitch hike his way across the country from Wisconsin to California with his friends Dave Zeutzius and Bill Fenner. After working in California for a bit, he served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. In 1969 he married the former Beverly Price and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage together. He was employed with Riverside Paper for 36 years before his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cottage in Townsend.

Bill is survived by his wife Beverly, children Kevin (Sheri) Zak and Jason Zak, brother Richard (Sheryl) Zak, and sister, Marjorie Corson and well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Marion, as well as the Zak brothers, Raymond, Tom and Bob.

Interment with full military honors will be at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King, Wisconsin on July 23, 2021 at 1:00pm. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Light Bar inside Sabre Lanes, 1330 Midway Road in Menasha from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. The Celebration starts with snacks at 4:00pm and dinner at 5:00pm.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Moments Hospice for caring for Bill and all the help they gave the family.
