William M. “Zippy” Nettekoven, age 46, of Kaukauna, joined his brother James in Heaven on Thursday, July 23, 2009. Bill was born in Kaukauna, on February 7, 1963 to Richard F. and Donna J. (Wiedenhaupt) Nettekoven. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1981.
Bill was employed for 28 years at the Kimberly Paper Mill. He was a member at Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton. He was an avid pool player, a fisherman, and enjoyed watching sports, mainly the Packers. He loved spending time with his family which included going on many golf outings with his aunt and uncle: Karen and Tom Van Deraa; mom and dad; cousins: Mike and Jenny; and his brother, James. Bill looked forward to his weekly card playing nights with mom and dad, where he enjoyed winning. Most of all Bill had a heart of gold, and was always there for anyone.
In addition to his parents, Richard and Donna, Bill is further survived by his aunts and uncles: Karen (Tom) Van Deraa, Paul (Margaret) Nettekoven, Tom (Mary Ann) Nettekoven, Dan Nettekoven, and Mary Lou (Dale) Busse; and numerous cousins.
Bill is preceded in death by his brother, James Nettekoven; maternal grandparents: Irvin and Mildred (Selig) Wiedenhaupt; and paternal grandparents: Victor and Ruth (Schmalz) Nettekoven.
A Funeral Service for Bill will be held 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Bill's name.
