William Lee Jacobs

William Lee Jacobs was born on March 12, 1953 to Lucille (Weyenberg) and Donald Jacobs in Appleton, WI. He passed on May 12, 2025.

Bill resided in the Fox Valley for most of his life. The Air Force took him to postings in Alaska, Florida, and North Dakota before adventure lust took him to California. He married Debra Calnin in 1981. They had four children - Renee (Adam) Schulz, Jacquelyn Guthrie, Jonathon (Emily) Jacobs, and William Jacobs. Debra and Bill divorced in 1988. Bill enjoyed taking his children camping, grilling out, and fishing.

Bill is preceded in death by his loving parents, Don and Lu. He is survived by his children, 7 grandchildren, and his 5 siblings - Donna (Jim) Schumacher, Sally Erdman, Linda (Howard) Abel, James (Dar) Jacobs, and Brian (Paula) Jacobs.

Bill’s children wish to thank medical and social service staff at the VA and other organizations for their service to those, like their father, who struggled with substance abuse and the many financial and relational problems that accompany that challenge.

It was Bill’s wish not to have a memorial service, which the family will honor.
