Wayne C. Wiedenhaupt, 89 of Kaukauna, passed away on April 22, 2023, after a 2-month battle following a stroke. Wayne was born to Norman and Caroline (Hopfensperger) Wiedenhaupt on June 26, 1933, in Sherwood WI.
Wayne started his working career at Thilmany in Kaukauna in 1951, becoming a first-class electronics technician in 1972. He worked his entire career at Thilmany retiring in 1993. Wayne always enjoyed sports. In high school he became captain of the baseball team. Later he met Janice, married and family became the most important thing to him. As a family they started taking short tent camping trips. As the children grew the trips became longer and farther. Eventually Wayne and Janice bought a travel trailer and the family travelled across Wisconsin with their square dance group. When the children grew up Wayne became involved in woodworking. He made many beautiful furnishings for the home and treasured gifts for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also became very interested in gardening and wildlife. Still most important was family gatherings with his sons and their families. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be forever loved and missed.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 70 years Janice (Basler) Wiedenhaupt of Kaukauna, son Marvin (Janice) Wiedenhaupt also of Kaukauna, their daughter Lori (Kristopher) Ott of Appleton, their children Olivia and Grant, their son Craig (Sarah) Wiedenhaupt of Kaukauna and their daughters Lily and Emma, and their daughter Amber (Bret) Lewis and their children Jack and Henry of Combined Locks. He is also survived by son David (Tina) Wiedenhaupt of Williams Bay, their children Kari Wiedenhaupt, also of Williams Bay, Lisa Wiedenhaupt (Bosco Nkunzimana) of Tulsa OK, their son Constantine, and Joshua (Lexi) Wiedenhaupt and their son Jack of Tulsa OK. Wayne is further survived by his son Mark (Lynda) Wiedenhaupt of Neenah.
He is preceded in death by a brother-in-law Alton Basler and his parents Norman and Caroline and mother and father-in-law Frank and Odelia (Joas) Basler.
The funeral liturgy for Wayne will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood, with Fr. Michael Betley officiating. He will be placed to rest in the parish cemetery. A visitation will take place at Fargo Funeral Home, located at 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna on Friday beginning at 4:00PM and concluding with a prayer service at 7:00PM visitation will resume at church on Saturday from 10:00 until 10:45 AM. Wayne will be laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Sherwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
The family would like to extend a warm thanks to the staff at Moments hospice for all the care and support they gave to Wayne and the family as well as the staff at Carolina for taking such great care of Wayne.
