Wayne Fredrick Berton age 78, passed away peacefully into God's welcoming arms on Saturday June 4, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.

Wayne F. Berton was born November 28, 1943 in Shawano, WI. He was the 6th born out of 12 to George C Berton and Lucille M (Rusch) Berton.

Wayne married the love of his life, Linda Marie Behnke on January 12, 1963. They were married for 59 years and blessed with three children.

Wayne was a proud, strong man who worked very hard to provide for his family. Wayne worked at American Can Company. He worked his way up to millwright. Wayne took extreme pride in his work and enjoyed doing a good job.

He took many call- ins in the middle of the night and he always went in. The name of the company upon his retirement was Pechiney. He worked with that company for 41 years.

Wayne was a family man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved to travel with his wife and family. In their later years they especially loved going on cruise ships around the world. Wayne looked forward to Friday fish fry's and a good brandy old fashioned with his wife Linda. And boy did he love his popcorn! He always looked forward to having sleepovers and day visits with his grandson Jonny. He was a lifelong die-hard Packer fan. He even had the opportunity to attend a game at Lambeau field. Wayne was a perfectionist in everything he did. He enjoyed doing home improvement and projects by himself and with his children. He was always there to lend an experienced hand and help his children whenever they needed it. He loved spending time on his land in Shawano with his family.

Wayne was a spiritual man and belonged to St. Bernard Catholic Parish. He really enjoyed attending church and took great pride in his duty as usher and serving wine. Wayne had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. You couldn't help but to laugh with him. He will be greatly missed by all of those blessed to have known him.

Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Linda Berton, son, Christopher J.  (Mon) Berton; daughters Angela M (Richard Klawitter) Berton and Jennifer A. (Ryan) Berton-Train; grandson Jonathan T. Berton, and Granddaughter, Angel (Roland) Stone.
