Warren E. Armitage, age 65 of Appleton, passed away suddenly, but from natural causes on April 8, 2023. He was born in Appleton on February 25, 1958, son of the late James and Helen (Schiesser) Armitage. He graduated from Appleton West High School and enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served one tour of duty. After his discharge, he returned to the valley and worked at various jobs, including the Canning Company in Hortonville, Hillshire Farms, Valley Packaging, and recently retired from his job as a courier for Staples. He married Jill Charlesworth in August of 1995. Together they shared 27 years and raised two children.
Warren became a man of wealth untold through the many lessons he learned. He was genuine and generous, willing to share anything he could with those in need. Perhaps that was just a smile, a pat on the back, or the shake of a hand. He was a trustworthy friend to many as well as a beloved brother, and a devoted husband and father who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife: Jill Armitage of Appleton; two children: Saone W. Armitage and Sarah Armitage and friend Hunter Sauer; sisters: Virginia (Gregory) Werner and Susan (Scott) Forseth; two special aunts: Alice Armitage and Mary Bailey, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an older sister Rose Ann (John) Alt.
The family will hold an open house to honor Warren on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00 AM until Noon at the Wichmann Funeral Home, located at 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton. He will be taken to his final resting place privately.
