Vivian Hazel Wojcik

January 5, 1931 — May 7, 2023

Menasha

Vivian Hazel Wojcik, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.  Vivian was born January 5, 1931, to Arthur and Margaret (Burton) Wilkinson. On February 27, 1954, she married Val “Curly” Wojcik. The couple started a family and raised their children in Menasha, next to the home her mother lived in.  Viv was a proud member of the union at Wisconsin Tissue Mills and during her tenure there served the union in the capacity of union steward as well as vice president and negotiator for contracts.

Viv was sassy and full of life. She loved watching all sports-a passion she got from her own mom who was a wild Cubs fan (Viv liked the Braves and then the Brewers!). She loved to watch the Packers too, which morphed into a love of all football.  She and Curly spent many years at the land which has transitioned from a one room trailer to a two-story cabin with a heated outhouse. She loved to spend time at the cabin and instilled that love of the land in her children.

Viv is survived by her children: Joe (Laura), John (Wendy), George (Donna) and Vicki (Dan) Pedersen, and daughter-in-law Lisa; she is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren (plus one bun in the oven). She is further survived by her sister Judy and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Curly-who has been waiting these last 7 years to see her again, her son Carl, daughter-in-law Jenny, an infant son, her parents, and her three siblings as well as her sister-in-law: Betty Lou and her maternal grandparents.

In accordance with Viv’s wishes, there will be no formal services for her, but her family intends to celebrate her remarkable life in the summer of 2023.

Vivian’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Oakridge Gardens for loving her as we did, and for making her the star of Trivia Night. Thanks too to the staff of Promedica Hospice for their compassionate care of mom in her final weeks.
