Virginia Phillips, age 86, passed away at St. Paul Elder Services on November 19, 2009. Ginny was born in the town of Kaukauna on October 9, 1923, daughter of the late Clarke and Lillian (Baum) Phillips. She attended Park School and graduated from the Kaukauna High School. Ginny enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, and attained the rank of Radio Technician Third Class prior to her honorable discharge on September 5, 1945. Following her return from the military, she was employed in Milwaukee for a number of years before coming back to the Fox Valley. She purchased a home in Kaukauna, where she lived for many years, and cared for her parents.

Survivors include a sister: Dorothy Bauer of Fond du Lac; a niece: Sue La Fond and her family of Fond du Lac; as well as her special friends and advocates: Rosemary and Byron Derricks of Kaukauna.

The Christian Funeral for Ginny will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna, with Rev. Mark Luetzow officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. Following the service, full military honors will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be directed either to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or to St. Paul Elder Services Hospice.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to all of the wonderful people who made Ginny's life so enjoyable at St. Paul Elder Services. We will never forget your kindness and compassion.
