Obituary

Victoria A. Hoffman, a loving wife, devoted mother, and passionately supportive grandmother unexpectedly passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 79. She leaves a void that can never be filled as she was overflowing with grace, patience, and an unending supply of love and support for those she cared about most. We were all so lucky to love her and have been loved by her.

Born in Kaukauna, Vicki was the eldest daughter of the late Robert and Marie Meyerhofer. Following her high school graduation, she worked at Thilmany and it was there that she met her future husband, the late William C. (Bill) Hoffman. For one of their first dates, he invited her to the Green Bay Packers NFL Championship game at Lambeau Field, known today as the Ice Bowl. It was clearly a great date because they were united in marriage on October 5, 1968 and shared 39 years together filled with laughter, fishing trips to Northern Wisconsin, supper clubbing, and the very best Kentucky Derby parties.

In the early years of their marriage, Vicki was a homemaker and devoted mother to their two children, Kim and Shaw. As their children grew, she accepted a part-time position at Anchor Fish & Seafood, later known as Anchor Food Products. Her part-time position grew into an exciting full-time career which she treasured. Over her lengthy career in the foodservice industry, she held many roles of increasing responsibility in customer service and sales.

Retirement brought endless opportunities to enthusiastically support her grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event, concert, or recital. She loved nothing more than being with her family.

She volunteered at ThedaCare Hospital-Appleton and served on the ThedaCare Volunteer Board for a number of years. She tutored young students in reading, as well as served at church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and Bunco with friends, and she also lovingly cross-stitched many beautiful pieces over the years.

Vicki will be sadly missed by her daughter, Kim (Mark) Mettelmann, and her son Shaw (Michelle) Hoffman. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Ian (fiancé Grace Rogers) Mettelmann, Isaac Mettelmann, Nick Hoffman, Olivia Hoffman, Madelyn Thoreson and Ava Thoreson. She is further survived by her siblings; Chuck (Cheryl) Meyerhofer, Celeste (Craig) Sanford, Guy (Sara) Meyerhofer, Lyn (Scott) Haessly, Jay (Sarah) Meyerhofer, Janel (Mike) Major, Hugh (Julie) Meyerhofer, Kip (Diane) Meyerhofer, and Kristel Meyerhofer, as well as numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willam C. Hoffman.

The funeral liturgy for Vicki will be held on Saturday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church (404 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton) with Br. Ray Stadmeyer, OFM Cap, officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Per Vicki’s wishes, there will be no funeral luncheon following the service. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vicki’s name can be made to the St. Joseph Parish Grab & Go Program.

“Mom, Grandma, G-Dog ~ you lived well, laughed often, and loved deeply. You will live on forever in our hearts.”
