Tom was born in Appleton on October 5, 1960, son of the late Donald and Rosemary (Nowell) Mischler. He was a 1979 graduate of Appleton East High School, and for over twenty years was active in the National Guard. On March 18, 2005, Tom married Mary (Wiesenberg) in Appleton; she survives. Tom held several jobs over the years, most recently working for R.R. Donnelly in Appleton. Tom enjoyed deer hunting, NASCAR racing, throwing darts with friends, and cheering on the Packers and Brewers.
Tom is survived by his wife: Mary Mischler of Combined Locks; a son: Matthew Mischler of Appleton and his girlfriend Kelly McDonald; two sisters: Mary “Fran” (Greg) Fulcer of Menasha and Kate (Jerry) Mahloch of Shawano; two brothers: Patrick Mischler of Appleton and his special friend Christine Tobin and Peter Mischler of Kaukauna; a brother-in-law: Scott (Marcia) Wiesenberg of Henrietta, New York; three aunts: Bernice Betters of Kaukauna; Anna (Bill) Sherry of West Bend; and Kate Bessin of Miami; an uncle: Jim (Nancy) Nowell of Minnesota, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Tom will be remembered by all as a likeable man, whose personable manner could turn a stranger into a friend in a matter of minutes. He was always there for a friend or family member who needed assistance, and often worried about others more than he worried about himself. Those who knew him and loved him will forever cherish his memory.
Tom, I will miss talking and laughing with you; you will always be in my heart. Love, Mary.
