Timothy Selig, age 61, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Appleton Medical Center. Tim was born in Appleton on November 26, 1947, the son of Carleton Selig of Appleton and the late Marie (O'Neil) Selig. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Xavier High School in 1965. For twenty-four years, Tim was employed at North Central Technical College in Wausau, and retired nine years ago. During that time, he and his former wife Linda, participated in the exchange program and over the years housed many foreign students. Even though Tim was confined to a wheelchair, he refused to let that stop him from getting where he needed to go. He traveled all over Appleton using his electric transportation. Tim was a resident at Oneida Heights, and will be missed by everyone in the community there. He was loved by them all, and was currently on the ballot to serve another term as the Resident Council President. Tim loved computers, and entered many online contests daily. You can be sure that over the years, he won plenty!
Survivors include his father: Carleton Selig of Appleton; three sons: Shawn (Judy) Selig of Grand Junction, Colorado; Steve P. Selig of Los Angeles and his fiancée Megan; and Scott (Jody) Selig of Rochester, Minnesota; five grandchildren: Kyle, Nicholas, Christopher, Hannah, and Emma; three brothers: James Selig of Winneconne; Charles Selig of Palm Bay, Florida and his friend Ray; and Steven N. Tim was a good friend to all and will be missed by all who enjoyed his sense of humor and sometimes even his stubborn n nature.
