Thomas Scott McMillan

July 19, 1957 — January 30, 2022

Thomas Scott McMillan – Appleton, WI

Tom took his final strum on this stage of life when God called him home and he earned his angel wings on Sunday, January 30, 2022.  Tom had been feeling off key in October just as he and Renee were planning their retirement in Florida.  At that time, he was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer.

Tom was the youngest son born to the late Darrel and Dorothy (Ehlers) McMillan in July of 1957. He graduated with Neenah High School’s Class of 1976.

Tom had multiple jobs over his lifetime including being a police officer, electro mechanic & even a bus driver just to name a few.  But music was his true passion and he had various music related gigs.  Including running sound & lighting for multiple bands, singing in several bands along with playing the keyboard and guitar.  Eventually Tom owned his own lighting and sound business – Pro Audio.  Recently, he started to take his one-man gig to bars sharing his love of music.  As of late Tom had been enjoying his retirement doing the things he loved – music, kids, grandkids & traveling to Florida.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Renee (Charlier) McMillan.  Together they were blessed with Nickolas (Whitney Arndt). This completed his family.  Nick joined Tom’s first loves his daughter Amy (Louie) Morales and his son Brian.  Tom loved and was very proud of his children. Tom had also been lucky to have the joy of his grandchildren who he loved very much. Audriana, Maxwell & Luca Morales, Reese Marks.  His next goal was to meet his newest grandson Axell who is due in April.  He is also survived by his sister, Kay (Norm) Thiel, along with his brothers Gary (Ann) McMillan; Dave McMillan; half bother Michael (Lyndsey) McMillan and his stepbrothers – Randy, David & John Stutzman.  Tom is also survived by Renee’s family Susette Charlier; Cheri (Brian) Nushart; Roger Charlier Jr. along with niece and nephews – Logan Charlier; Tyler, Joey & Makenna Nushart.  He also survived by his McMillan nieces and nephews Carey (Steve) Frahm, Matt (Angie) McMillan, Julie (Andrew) Frailing & Laura (Josh) Klarner.  Tom will also leave behind so many beloved friends who helped make his life complete.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, his stepmother Wanda, stepbrother Jim Stutzman.  Also, his father & mother-in-law Roger & Carol Charlier and his sister-in-law Amiee Charlier.

While we are shocked and filled with grief, we know Tom would want us to celebrate his life instead of mourning his death.  With that in mind, our family will be holding a celebration of Tom’s life.  It will be held at Pathways Church in Appleton, WI on Saturday, February 12, 2022.  Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am with a service to follow.  A celebration will follow at another location.  Come with your favorite memories to share with all his family and friends.

Tom and I really appreciated all the help and support we had as we tried to accomplish some of Tom’s last wishes and continued making as many memories as possible.

Make everyday count because we are not guaranteed tomorrow.
