Thomas Arthur "Tom" Smith

February 3, 1937 — July 27, 2018

Thomas A. Smith, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Care Partner’s of Appleton. He was born on February 3, 1937, in Marshfield, the son of Henry and Anne (Somrak) Smith. Tom was united in marriage with Sharon Chapiewski on August 14, 1965, in Wisconsin Rapids. He was employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation for many years, retiring in 1998. Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, reading, playing computer games, and tinkering in his basement and garage. He will be fondly remembered for being a quiet man with a sly and witty sense of humor.

Thomas is survived by his wife: Sharon Smith; 3 children: Victoria (Robert Bowser) Smith; Gregory Thomas Smith; and Collette (Jason) Hartfiel; 2 grandchildren: Ellery Willingham and Josephine Smith; and many other relatives and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Henry (Elaine) Smith Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, with Chaplain Matthew Cornelius officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
