Thomas A. “Tom” Pauly, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Brewster Village, Appleton. Tom was born on May 26, 1930 in Milwaukee, son of the late John and Florence (Quast) Pauly. Tom graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee, and then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. He served from 1950 until 1953, gaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Tom was married to Mary Wittle in Newfoundland in 1953, and again to Betty Vosters in Green Bay in 1965. He was an award-winning account executive for Grainger Industrial Supply for 30 years. Tom was a member of the Oshkosh Gun Club, and loved shooting trap and skeet. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Aside from his great love of his grandchildren, he also loved all Wisconsin sports teams.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn (Rob) Hutchings, Newfoundland, and Robin (Craig) Oilschlager, Appleton; four grandchildren, Robyn (fiancé Brad Savoury) Hutchings, Zach Hutchings, Erin (fiancé Patrick Kelly) Oilschlager, and Tami Oilschlager; a brother-in-law, Lee (Pat) Vosters; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.
The funeral liturgy for Tom will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Freemont Street, Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens, Green Bay, will be private.
