Theresa Josephine Stueber (VanGeffen), age 89 of Menasha, WI passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. She was born to the late Martin and Catherine (Van de Laar) VanGeffen on March 11, 1937 in Combined Locks, WI. Theresa graduated from Kimberly High School with the class of ’55. Theresa met the love of her life, Kenneth “Ken” Stueber and they were married in May of 1959. Together, they raised Karen, their daughter. Before and after her motherly duties in the 1970s, she held numerous and varied jobs during her working years, the most notable being Combined Locks Paper Company (a woman working amongst an all-male office) and Shopko. Theresa was an incredibly kind and caring woman who seemed to know everything about everyone. She enjoyed puzzles and games, including word searches and bingo. She was proud of her Dutch heritage and her immigrant parents. Above all else, Theresa loved her daughter, her number one son-in-law, and grandchildren, and cherished them with all her being.
Theresa will be deeply missed by her daughter, Karen (Matthew) Digman; her grandchildren, Maxwell and Catherine Digman; her siblings-in-law, Veronica Stueber, Jean Stueber, and Bernie Hill; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Ken; her parents; her siblings, Ann (Joseph) Guilfoyle / (Douglas) Wadlund and Donald (Jane) VanGeffen; and her siblings-in-law, Genevieve, Arthur Jr (Irene), Margaret (Bob), Vivian, Hazel (Bill), Leo, Beverly (Earl), Shirley (Keith), Carol (Art), William “Butch”, and Ron.
A funeral visitation will be held for Theresa from 9-11 AM on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 1592 S. Oneida St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Theresa will be laid to rest with her husband at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to donate to St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks.
Theresa’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Gardens of Fountain Way, ThedaCare Hospice, and her ThedaCare medical providers for all the care, compassion, and expertise given to Theresa over the years. You are all truly angels on this earth.
