Terry G. “Dynie” Funk, age 81 of Menasha, WI passed away on May 8, 2024.  He was born to Clifford and Dorothy (Clifford) Funk on March 4, 1943 in Antigo, WI.  After graduating from Antigo Senior High School with the class of ’62, Terry enlisted in the US Coast Guard and was honorably discharged after being injured while in the service.  He then decided to take his natural ability and love for helping people into the world of real estate and became first an agent for and then an owner of Future Homes-Mobil home sales. After his career in mobile home sales, he ventured into selling recreational vehicles at Appleton Camping Center where he met many of his close friends.  Terry married his high school sweetheart, Mary Gibbons, in April of 1969 and together, they had two children.  After Mary’s unfortunate and untimely passing, Terry found love again with Jean Klutz and they were married in December of 2000, combining their families into one. Jean and Terry's love was a deep and wonderful bond that was sadly cut short when the Lord called her home in March of 2002.

Terry was known for his always kind and warm presence.  He was quite the jokester too, loved to laugh and truly thrived in making others laugh.   Terry was the life of the party and insisted on being the MC at many events.  He had a genuine love of life and a brilliant smile that would light up any room.  He was an incredibly charitable person, helping whoever, whenever, and however he could.  Most notably, he volunteered a good deal of his free time to AMC, doing his part to make everyone’s time at the hospital a little easier.  Terry was a devout Catholic with strong, unwavering faith. He trusted the Lord to lead him home when his time came.  Terry, also known as "Dynie", was a die-hard golfer.  Whereas he loved the game of golf, what he treasured most was the comradery of his golf buddies and the deep, long lasting friendships that resulted from the times spent together golfing. It was these bonds of friendship, and the "hands on support", that enabled Terry to remain independent through his struggles for as long as he did.  Dynie was instrumental in starting the  “Golf in July ‘till you die”  group with some of his classmates from Antigo. He will surely be missed by all of his golfing buddies including his grandson Corey and great nephew Reed who he tremendously enjoyed golfing with.  Terry truly valued the closeness he had with his sisters and appreciated their love, advice, support, and guidance throughout his life.   Family dinners and holiday get-togethers at his niece, Peggy’s house, as well as spending time with Ann and Dave in Shawano were some of his favorite memories.  Above all else, Terry cherished time spent with friends and family, special highlights for sure were times spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his great-niece, great-nephew, and was a very proud great-great uncle to "Jay-Man" and little Evie.  They all meant the world to him.

Terry is survived by his son, Brian (Bonnie); his daughter, Ann (Dave); his grandchildren, Madelyn, Gabrielle, Teala, and Corey; several great-grandchildren; his siblings, Joann and Marsha (John); his brother-in-law, Keith; his nieces, Peggy (Kevin), Kelly (Martin), Lesly, and Amy; nephew James; great-nieces and great-nephews and their spouses; many special friends, including Brad (Sue), Eike (Mark), Steve (Pat),   Bob (Deborah) and Dawn; as well as his golf buddies, classmates, staff and patrons at Mud Creek, fellow volunteers at AMC and other friends he bonded with throughout his life.

Terry is preceded in death by, and now re-united with, his parents, Clifford and Dorothy; his first wife, Mary; his second wife, Jean; his daughter, Kristen; his siblings-in-law, Thomas, Kate, and Pat; and his special friends, Diane and Larry.

His family and friends appreciate the loving care and kindness extended to Terry these last few months by the doctors, nurses and caretakers at AMC as well as Oakridge Gardens Rehab Center.
