Teena M. Garbrecht

Teena, known to her family as a “Cool Aunt”, passed into eternal life on June 27, 2023.  She was born March 8, 1967 in Appleton, daughter of the late Bernard and Eleanor (Pritzl) Kabat.  She graduated from Appleton West High School with the class of 1985, and also received a degree in English from UW-Stevens Point.

Teena worked at several different jobs as a customer service representative, most recently at U.S. Bank.

She enjoyed time reading, listening to music, karaoke, and also had a fondness for wolves.   Dear to her heart was time spent with family, friends, and her pet cats.

On October 20, 2007 her life changed when she married Bill Garbrecht.  They spent fifteen wonderful years together.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Garbrecht; brothers and sisters: Rick (Ann) Kabat of Florida, Candee Abels of Freedom, Debbie (Mark) Silverstein of California and Kathy (Bob) Rank of Darboy.  She was the “Cool Aunt” to several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law Stan Abels, and a nephew Kurt Abels.

The funeral liturgy for Teena will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at St Pius X Catholic Church, located at 500 W. Marquette Street in Appleton, with Fr. Patrick Costello officiating.  She will be placed at rest with her parents in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Visitation will take place directly at the church on Thursday, July 20, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Teena will be deeply missed – she left us much too soon.
