Ted A. Miller

Ted Miller, age 74 of Kaukauna, passed away at his home on May 15, 2021. Ted was born in Muncie, Indiana on December 8, 1946, son of the late Ernest and Esther (Westenbarger) Miller. He married Barbara Drephal on July 30, 1966 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 until 1969.

Prior to being drafted into military service, he played professional baseball with the California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, and Appleton Foxes. Later he worked as a truck driver for several decades, retiring in 2011 from Contract Transport Service.

Ted enjoyed traveling, family time, watching his grandsons and their activities, and watching the Brewers and the Packers.

Survivors include his wife: Barbara; two sons: Brian (Yuliya Azarenko, fiancée) Miller and Brett (Dana) Miller; grandsons Collin and Cameron Miller; a step-grandsons Ivan Raymond; a sister-in-law Judy Janus; two brothers-in-law: Robert (Susan) Drephal and Charles (Joyce) Drephal; a special niece and nephew; Amber and Bradley Drephal; two nieces Stacy Janus Van Handel and Beth Drephal, and a nephew Bobby Drephal.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Esther Miller Klausing, his step-father Paul Klausing; his in-laws: Robert and Frances Drephal; a brother-in-law Gordon Janus; nieces Debra Longberg and Kim Arroyo, and a step-grandson Stas Vladimirov.

The funeral liturgy for Ted will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State Street in Appleton, with Fr. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. Military honors will follow and interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation for Ted will take place directly at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
