Sylvia Lyn (Boren) Lovat, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed peacefully from this life on December 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of family. She was 84 years old. Lyn was born on May 4, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ellis Russell Boren and Sylvia Deon (Barrett) Boren. She was the oldest of her siblings Tina and Robyn.
Lyn grew up in Bingham Canyon, Utah. She was proud of her Bingham heritage, and her time as an active student at Bingham High School, she served in the student government and was a member of the Minerettes.
After high school Lyn married the love of her life Tom Lovat, the man she had grown up with and known “forever.” Together they set out on a life filled with many adventures. No matter where life took them Lyn set up a home where family and friends felt welcome. Her homes were filled with family and friends and most of all love and a sense of belonging. Lyn was kind, humble and welcoming to everyone. She was a great listener and had a heart for all those who crossed her path. She sensed the needs of others and gave freely of herself to fill those needs.
After Tom’s retirement, Lyn insisted they move back to Wisconsin where they were closer to family. In Appleton Lyn built her dream home where she hosted gatherings for family and life-long friends. Many laughs and stories were shared in that home and memories were created.
Lyn was selfless, kind, humble and strong. Although her physical presence will be greatly missed, her strength, kindness, love and wisdom will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will live on through her many acts of kindness.
