Suzanne Mary Kewley joined her husband, Richard (Dick) Kewley in heaven on Nov. 3, 2026.
Suzanne was born on Aug. 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Laurette Ladky. In addition to her husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her brother Jack Ladky and survived by her sister, Nancy (Ladky) Angsten.
Suzanne was a graduate of Shorewood High School in Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she majored in political science and enjoyed being a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Suzanne married Dick Kewley on Dec. 30, 1950, and they enjoyed 68 years of loving marriage. They moved to Appleton in 1952, where they raised their family. Suzanne is survived by all of her children: Kate (Paul) Farris, Steve (Ellen) Kewley, Richard (Lisa) Kewley Jr., James (Karen) Kewley, Kelly Kewley (Mark Schilling) and Mary Jo (David) Simpson; as well as 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family especially thanks Kathy Bergholz for her loving daily care of their mother during her final years.
The family gathered earlier this year to celebrate Suzanne’s 100th birthday. She enjoyed playing the piano and loved a good game of gin rummy. She was a committed golfer and well known for her consistent “right down the middle” fairway drives. Her family remembers her as a selfless individual who put the needs of others ahead of herself. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and in particular, the women who made up her Rosary group. Her charity work over the years included spearheading “Project Gabriel” while volunteering at WomanKind, and in later years working with The Elizabeth Ministry.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, Wis., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m.
