Susan L. Schultz

Susan Schultz, beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, and friend, passed away early Thursday morning at the age of 56. Born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, her family moved around the state and finally settled in Neenah. There, she graduated from high school, got married, and raised her three children.

Sue had an infectious love of life and a spirit that drew others near. She believed in living life to the fullest and made every moment and expression of love count. She faced every challenge with determination, optimism, humor, and grace. She spent her free time camping and surrounding herself with those she loved. One of her favorite things to do near the end was making her granddaughter laugh.

She is survived by three children: Emily Engel of Madison and her partner Jennifer Hassemer; Allison Engel of Appleton and her daughter Violet; and Alexander Engel of Milwaukee; her life partner: Jerry Klassen of Menasha; three brothers and a sister: Richard Schultz of Phelps; Patricia Schultz of Menasha; Thomas (Dawn) Schultz of Appleton; and Robert (Debbie) Schultz of Neenah; as well as several nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister Barbara Jean.

Her children invite you to come celebrate her life and mourn her passing at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 3212 S. Oneida Street in Menasha with Mr. Peter Reinl officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan. Friends are invited to a visitation at the funeral home from 5 PM until the hour of the service at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Susan's memory.

The family thanks Jamie and Dale for their loving kindness during this difficult time.
