Appleton – Steven R. Millar, 37, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019. He was born on November 6, 1982, in Weston, Ontario, Canada, the son of William and Ingrid (Gajkowski) Millar. Steven was united in marriage to Emily Hoard on June 20, 2009, in Milwaukee. He graduated from Xavier High School, Appleton, the Class of 2000. He was most recently employed with Grainger and had been previously employed through West. Steven will be remembered as a man who would do anything for those he knew and had a heart of gold. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with him (especially through his dance moves). He was the best dad and husband a family could ask for. He lived for his children and loved them unconditionally. Music was a great passion for Steven and he will be remembered through his own music and the music he shared with others. Through the wind, the birds, and the storms, we will hear you playing for us.
Steven is survived by his wife: Emily; 2 children: Benjamin and Charlotte; parents: Bill and Ingrid; his maternal grandma: Vera “Nana” Gajkowski; 2 siblings: Dana Millar and Kevin (Katerina Pavenski) Millar; a nephew and niece: Jordan and Sophia Millar; his father- and mother-in-law: Kent and Jill Hoard; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Kazimierz Gajkowski, and his paternal grandparents: Robert and Joan Millar.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated in the name of “The Millar Children’s Fund” for the benefit of Steven’s children.
We will never forget Daddy’s great back scratches, horrible winking abilities, but most of all his love for us all. We love you and will always miss you Daddy. You and the memories created with you will be in our hearts forever.
