Steven B. Lee

Our beloved, Steven Bruce Lee, age 34, died Friday, July 7, 2023 in Appleton, after a two-year struggle with cancer.  His loved ones were at his side.  Steven was born October 3, 1988, in Appleton, the only son born to Bruce and Sandra (Sontag) Lee.

He was a 2007 graduate of Kimberly High School and served in the United States Air Force from 2011 until 2015.  He was a Senior Airman serving as Crew Chief which included a year of service in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  Following his honorable discharge, he settled back into Appleton working at O’Neil and Associates in Oshkosh as a Senior Technical Writer.  He purchased his first home in Appleton where he enjoyed making music, creating art, and gaming.  He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother: Sandra (Dean Plato) Sontag; a brother: Jared (BriAnna Emmrich) Nikodem; a sister: Nicole (Brett Buksyk) Nikodem; a father by love: Russell (Lisa) Nikodem; and maternal grandparents: Peter and Barbara Sontag.  Other relatives include a grand aunt: Sue Schwartzbauer; uncles Michael (Sandra Huston) Sontag and Brian Leach; an aunt: Brenda (Bill Rippl) Schroeder; and a cousin: Amy Schwartzbauer.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Lee; paternal grandparents Lawerence and Elizabeth Lee; and uncles Marshall Schroeder and William Schwartzbauer.

A worship service to celebrate God's gift of Steven to our lives will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Appleton Alliance Church located at 2693 Grand Chute Boulevard.  Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 AM that morning.  Steven will be placed at rest with his father, Bruce Lee, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Our family would like to express our appreciation for all the care and support that he received from the special team at ThedaCare At Home Hospice and the Theda Care Cancer Center.  You all have touched our hearts.
