Steven M. Havel

Steven Havel, 75, passed peacefully surrounded by family on August 7, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1950, to his parents Pius and Helen (Fumal) Havel in Appleton, Wisconsin.

He was raised in Appleton, graduating from Appleton West High School in 1969. The day after graduation he started working at Fox River Paper and was there until retirement doing numerous jobs. He met his wife Sharon through his sister. They dated about 2 years and got married. Together they raised 2 sons.

He enjoyed watching the packers, Go Pack Go! And Nascar. Along with thrifting and taking care of his yard.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, sons: Jason (Sonia Wiesner) Havel, Matthew (Janna) Havel, grandchildren Nathan Janssen and Kamryn, siblings: Jerry (Vi) Havel, Robert (Barb) Havel, Dave (Geri) Havel, Rick Havel, Tom (Shirley) Havel, Ken (Kris) Havel, Karen Greil, Jan Foth, Deb (Denis) Welker, god daughter Linda Greil-Reinke, along with other extended family and friends, and his best buddy Gizmo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Jack (Carol) Havel, Jim (Darlene) Havel, Mary Baier, Donna Popp, Jean Besaw, Kathy (Dick) Collar, Judy (Erhard) Vogel, brothers in law: Fred Greil and Duane Foth; sisters in law: Patricia Havel and Beverly Havel.

There will be a funeral service on August 21, 2025, at Wichmann Funeral Homes, 537 N Superior St. Appleton WI 54911. Visitation will be from 9-11am with the service starting at 11.
