Stephen J. Fritz

Stephen J. Fritz passed away with zero regrets on October 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, on March 5, 1958, to Mary (Noonan) and Ralph Fritz, he was a man who treasured the outdoors. An avid hunter, Stephen loved the woods and whitetails, but even more, he valued the friendships forged during his adventures in nature, creating countless cherished memories.

Known by many names—Big Cat, Big Al, and Scuba, among others—his favorites were Dad and Grandpa. A devoted father to three daughters, he took immense pride in being their unwavering support. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, who brought him boundless happiness.

Stephen enjoyed playing games like sheepshead and was active in pool and golf leagues. A passionate sports fan, he proudly supported the Green Bay Packers, even traveling as far as Tokyo and London to cheer them on. In his younger years, he also played baseball and darts, showcasing his love for competition and camaraderie.

Known for his loyalty and willingness to help friends and family without hesitation, Stephen’s vibrant conversations enriched the lives of everyone around him. With a heart full of laughter and a zest for life, he touched countless lives, and his extraordinary presence will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie (Ryan) Moore, Velma (Timothy) Fritz, and Brooke Lynn (Craig) Torrance; grandchildren Flynn, Callum, Hugh, Ruby, Francis, and Margot; siblings Susan (Joseph) Zwiers, Daniel (Dawn) Fritz, Michael Wulterkens, and sister-in-law Amy Fritz; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Bertha and Clifford Fritz, Ralph and Ferna Noonan, brother David Fritz, step-brother Steve Wulterkens, and step-father Tom Wulterkens.
