Stanley J. Felzer, age 68, passed away Friday afternoon, April 15, 2005, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 14, 1937, to the late Alvin and Martha (Hietpas) Felzer Barlow, in Little Chute and had been an Appleton resident for 45 years. Stanley retired from Beloit Manhattan in April 1999, after 32 years of employment. He also was employed part-time by Bergstrom Neenah Ford as a driver. Stanley enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with his family, building birdhouses and birdfeeders, building model cars, collecting antique model cars and truck, Nascar and spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Doris C. (Snell) Felzer, to whom he had been married for 45 years; four children, Kim (Paul) Mainville, Black Creek; Scott (Mary) Felzer, Little Chute; Kathy (Michael) LeClair, Appleton; Stu (Rebecca) Felzer, Nichols; 11 grandchildren, Tara Busse, Gregory (Melissa) Wilson, Mandi Wilson, Nicole, Brandon and Adam Felzer, Erin and Erich LeClair, Andrew, Josephine and Theodore Felzer; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Jasmine and Justin Busse and Eleanor Wilson; two brothers, David (Sandy) Felzer, Little Chute; Thomas (Linda) Felzer, Appleton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Vanden Bloomer, Phyllis (Earl) Springstroh, Norman Sr. (Doris) Snell, Lois Jean (Carlton) Tiedt, Janice (Wayne) Seegers, Susan (John) Hinchley, Diane Bowers and Terry Howard; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Leo Barlow; his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Hilda Snell, Sr., two brothers-in-law, Lester Snell, Jr.; Gerald Bowers; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Howard. Funeral services for Stanley will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the funeral home with Reverend Martin E. Koeller officiating. Burial will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am Tuesday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Robert Geller and his staff, St. Elizabeth Hospital, the nursing staff of the Oncology Department and Dr. Thomas Lyons.
