Simon Pierre Lafontant

Simon Pierre Lafontant, age 40, left this earth unexpectedly on September 11, 2024. Simon was born on October 16, 1983, in Haiti. He considers Port-Salut his true home. He was a wonderful person but most of all a great father to his kids and an amazing friend to all who knew him. This was truly an unexpected loss. 

Simon was always there for those who needed him, even forgetting about himself sometimes. He had such a big heart; he could make you forget all your troubles. Whether you were an old friend, a colleague, or played football (soccer) with him, professionally or just for fun, you were blessed by him. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to love him and be loved by him. He was a blessing to so many people.

Simon is survived by his wife Armelle; his children: Samondy Gaelle Lafontant, Shees Etsophana Lafontant, Chawensy “Jonathan”Pierre Lafontant, Kailah Suzette Priant-Lalane; brother Carlos Lafontant; mother of his children and her brother Natacha Content and Jeff George and his mother-in-law aka “Mom” Suzette Lalane, his aunt Marie Rosana Rho and his aunt & godmother Madeliene Cecil as well as several cousins. In addition, Simon was a lover of people and so there are many other family and good friends who will miss him in their daily lives. He was preceded in death by his mom Sylvia Chambain.

A memorial service will take place on Friday September 27, 2024, at 4:00pm at Valley Baptist Church, 3600 Chippewa Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church to greet the family from 3:00pm until the service begins.

Mwen te gen chans pou m te gen opòtinite pou m renmen l epi pou m renmen l. Li te yon benediksyon pou anpil moun.

Simon Pierre Lafontant, 40 ans, a quitté cette terre de façon inattendue le 11 septembre 2024. Simon est né le 16 octobre 1983 à Haïti. Il considère Port-Salut comme sa véritable demeure. C'était une personne merveilleuse mais surtout un père formidable pour ses enfants et un ami formidable pour tous ceux qui l'ont connu. C’était vraiment une perte inattendue. 

Simon était toujours là pour ceux qui avaient besoin de lui, s'oubliant même parfois. Il avait un si grand cœur ; il pourrait vous faire oublier tous vos ennuis. Que vous soyez un vieil ami, un collègue ou que vous jouiez au football avec lui, professionnellement ou simplement pour le plaisir, vous avez été béni par lui. J'ai eu la chance d'avoir eu l'opportunité de l'aimer et d'être aimée par lui. Il a été une bénédiction pour tant de gens.

Simon laisse dans le deuil son épouse Armelle; ses enfants : Samondy Gaelle Lafontant, Shees Etsophana Lafontant, Chawensy « Jonathan » Pierre Lafontant, Kailah Suzette Priant-Lalane ; frère Carlos Lafontant; mère de ses enfants et de son frère Natacha Content et Jeff George et sa belle-mère alias « Mom » Suzette Lalane, sa tante Marie Rosana Rho et sa tante & marraine Madeliene Cecil ainsi que plusieurs cousins. De plus, Simon était un amoureux des gens et il y a donc de nombreux autres membres de la famille et bons amis à qui il manquera dans leur vie quotidienne. Il a été précédé dans la mort par sa mère Sylvia Chambain.

Un service commémoratif aura lieu le vendredi 27 septembre 2024, à 16h00, à l'église baptiste Valley, 3600 Chippewa Street, Appleton. Les amis et la famille peuvent se rassembler à l'église pour saluer la famille de 15h00 jusqu'au début du service.
