Shirley M. Bloy

Shirley M. Bloy, age 93, passed away on August 30, 2024, at home surrounded by her family and their love. Shirley was born on October 8, 1930, to Oscar and Lillian (Lopas) Sternhagen in Kaukauna. On September 12, 1950, Shirley married Leonard Bloy and they had three children whom they raised in Appleton.

Shirley enjoyed crafting, sewing, and golf outings. She also enjoyed singing and could literally “out harmonize” anyone! She enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Shawano Lake with family and friends, and there were often raucous card games afoot on the patio.

Shirley is survived by her husband Leonard; children: Pamela Bloy, Tuscon, AZ, and Timothy (Patty) Bloy, Appleton; grandson Jeffrey John Bloy; brother David (Yvonne) Sternhagen, daughter-in-law Nancy Lang, brother-in-law Adolf (Charlotte) Bloy, Kaukauna; and many nieces, nephews and good friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Jeffrey David Bloy; her sister Jean (Bill) Mc Daniel and her parents-in-law Adolf and Hanna Bloy, Sr.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday September 4, 2024, at 12:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10:00am until the service begins. Shirley will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.
