Shirley A. Hartfiel

Shirley A. (Pennings, Crane) Hartfiel went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2025.  Shirley was born in Neenah on November 3, 1935, daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice (Widmar) Pennings.

Shirley loved to knit, crochet, and make quilts, but enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the most. She enjoyed her friends and other family, especially her party girls. She was also an avid camper for many years.

Shirley is survived by her children: Steven (Peggy) Crane and Jean (nee Crane) and Chuck Bintzler; her grandchildren: Kara Pynenberg, Deja Stark, and Michael Stark; her great-grandchildren: Austin, Kaelyn, and Camdyn Benzschawel and Griffen Scholl-Delzer; and her sisters: Elaine Flunker, Kay Williams, Nancy Pennings, and Colleen Baehnman.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Melody Delzer, son Gregory Crane, grandson Erich Delzer, her parents Arthur and Bernice Pennings, sisters Marlene Gritzmacher and Anita Pennings, and a brother Wayne Pennings.

A memorial service for Shirley will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran church, located at 2220 W. College Avenue in Appleton with Rev. Timothy Seabaugh officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date at Dale Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
