Sarah W. Beard, 59, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones and her faithful companion, Buddy, on May 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sarah was born on August 27, 1964, in Appleton to Richard and Nancy (Fawcett) Winslow.
Sarah was a lifelong artist. After graduating from Appleton West High School, she pursued an Art Degree from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. She was an avid quilter, basket weaver and scrapbooker. Sarah was a devoted mother and family was always at the center her world. She later received a nursing degree from FVTC, working extensively in the Fox Valley area as a nurse. Sarah’s journey through life was marked by a deep sense of compassion that extended beyond her work, as she cared for her mother with grace and dedication for many years. She was selfless, encouraging and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Sarah’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Sarah is survived by her children Andrew (Chiora) Beard, Travis (Hannah) Beard; her grandchildren Oliver and Gwendolyn; brothers Matthew (Deborah) Winslow, Dana (Helen) Winslow, Paul (Julie Boehmer) Winslow; and many friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Sarah’s life will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 803 East College Avenue in Appleton, on June 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Linda Morgan-Clement officiating. Friends and family are welcome to gather for visitation at church beginning at 9:00 AM.
