Age 53, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. She was born in New Berlin on July 5, 1956 the daughter of Ralph and Marian (Kellett) Jaeger. On March 12, 1988 she married her husband of 21 years, K.C. Altekruse, in Menomonee Falls. Sally graduated from Marquette University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She pursued her passion for gardening and operated The Garden Shed and Learning Center on College Avenue. Sally was active and volunteered much of her time in Master Gardeners and Community Garden Partnership. She will be dearly missed for being a loving spouse and mother.

Sally is survived by her husband, K.C. of Appleton; sons: Benjamin and Jason; parents: Ralph and Marian Jaeger of Oshkosh; sisters: Linda (Tom) Jicha of Minnesota and Cheryl (John) Poweleit of Watertown; and nieces and nephews: Michele, Alysia, Nick, Luke, Darin, Heather, Michael and Ellen.

The memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2009 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, North Site, 6331 N. Ballard Rd., Appleton, with Rev. Mary Bauer officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial fund in Sally's name is being established.
