Ruth Mary Zittlow, age 83 of Wrightstown, WI went home to be with Jesus on March 6, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Appleton to the late Harvey and Inez Zittlow, Ruth was a woman of steady character. She graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1960 and dedicated her entire professional career to AAL (Thrivent), where her loyalty and work ethic were hallmarks of her tenure. A woman of deep faith, Ruth was baptized May 10, 1942, and was a confirmed, lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wrightstown.
Ruth loved the great outdoors. Whether she was snowmobiling, golfing, or fishing, she embraced every season. Her "happy place" was her cabin up north, where the door was always open. She was a gracious host, welcoming family and friends for years of laughter, pontooning, and games.
Ruth’s heart also held a special place for Missy, Maggy, and Mindy—the Yorkies who were her constant and faithful companions over the years.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Harvey and Inez (Rosin) Zittlow; her sisters, Beverly Baumgartener and Carol Swender; and her dear friend, Bette Marzahl.
Ruth’s legacy lives on through her brother, Paul (Sally) Zittlow. She was a beloved aunt to multiple generations of nieces and nephews, extending all the way to her great-great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Apple Creek Place and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Ruth.
Family and friends may gather to celebrate Ruth’s life on Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 Plum Rd, Wrightstown, WI 54180. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at St. John's Church Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
