Russell Clark Anderson – Greenville, WI

On Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, Russ passed away peacefully at home due to heart and kidney failure. He was born on Friday, January 13, 1956, to Howard and Ellen (lovingly known as Dick) Anderson. He played and excelled at many sports during his youth. He took his sports passion and talent to UW La Crosse where he played football for his college career. It was here that he met his two loves… the brotherhood of TKE where a couple of his frat brothers involved him in selling insurance which he did to the end. The other one was Lori Newton, whom he married in 1980 and was with him to the end.

Along with sports, Russ enjoyed the outdoors with annual trips of fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking.  He also loved cutting wood at the Shack. Russ’s greatest passion, golf, began as a caddy at 10 years old. This passion continued through life with golf trips and being an involved, lifetime member of Grand View Golf Course.

Russ lit up the room with his lighthearted, easy-going nature whose laugh could be heard ‘round the course. His love of music helped him pass the time during dialysis… not sure if the nurses shared that love when they heard him singing along.

Russ is survived by Lori and their three awesome daughters; Leah (Matt) Boeseman, whom he loved to argue with; Alyssa (Eric) Malouf, whom he negotiated with; and Kara who did the running for him. His three grandchildren were a very important part of his life. He spent many hours doing puzzles with Ava, reading books with Zoey, and practicing writing numbers and letters with Ethan. He also enjoyed providing “advice” to his sons-in-law, Matt and Eric.

Russ is survived further by the other 5 of his brood: Lorry (Sarah) Anderson, Curtis (Kelly), Brian (Joni) Anderson, Sheldon Anderson, and Laura Anderson. He is also survived by in-laws Rex (Connie) Newton, Lance (Laura) Newton and Lisa Muetzelburg (special partner, Jimmy Schmuhl), along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and fellow members of Grand View Golf Course.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ellen Anderson.

Russ thanks all his insurance customers for their continued business throughout the years. Dale Monday of Monday and Associates (920-750-6352) will continue to service all of Russ’ customers.

Russ’ funeral will take place on Friday, June 30th, 2023, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, N1615 Meadowview Dr, Greenville, WI. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:30AM with the service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grand View Golf Course, 135 John St, PO Box 217, Hortonville, WI 54944. They will be used for their youth golf program.
