Royal H. Brandt

Royal Harold Brandt, age 96 , formerly of Appleton,WI passed away on March 26, 2024 in Shawano, WI. He was born to William and Lena (Kuehmichel) Brandt on April 5, 1927 in the town of Lessor, WI. Royal was raised on his family’s farm in Navarino, WI. Royal graduated from Bonduel High School with the class of ’47. He enjoyed playing football and baseball in his younger years.

He served in the US Navy WWII 1945-1946 and Korea 1951-1958 and received an honorable discharge. He worked at Kimberly Clark and tended bar at Maurer’s Bar. He earned a welders degree and then began to work for Miller Electric in Appleton as a welder. After 30 years of faithful service, he retired from Miller Electric as a proud member of the Miller Quarter Century Club. Royal never lost his love of sports and was an avid Packer fan.

Royal is survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Roland Hilliker, Jean Drage, Cynthia Shearer, Charles Brandt, Brian Brandt, Carrie Westphal, Meredith Seidl, and Amy Nordlee.

Royal is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lena; his siblings, Arthur Brandt, Lena Brandt, Louise Fredrickson, Theodore Brandt, Willie Brandt, Adelia Hilliker, Albert Brandt, Walter Brandt, Esther Oelhafen, Harvey Brandt, and James Brandt; and his special friend, Lorraine Maurer.

Royal will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park with military honors.
