Roy Paul Bruette, age 74, of Appleton, was called home on Tuesday, October 17, 2012, after a brief illness. He was born on January 2, 1938, in Bruce Crossings, Michigan, the son of the late Roy and Lena (Pelky) Bruette. Roy served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1960. On May 26, 1962, he was united in marriage to Gloria Ready at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Roy was employed at Zwicker Knitting Mills and retired from St. Bernard Parish in Appleton.
He is survived by his wife: Gloria Bruette; son: Mark (Lisa) Bruette of Shawano; daughters: Laura (Frank) Pierri of Appleton and Aimee (Matt) Mikula of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren: Joshua, Jeremy and Jacob Bruette and Cody Singer; Logan, Carlye and Rachael Pierri; Olivia and Ryan Mikula; great granddaughter: Alyssa Singer; brother: Louis (special friend, Mary) Bruette of Seymour; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donald (Janet) Ready of Mukwonago; Karen Schultz of Mukwonago; Sharon Huschultz of Shawano; Bonnie Ready of Two Rivers; Janice (Ben) Kleist of Shiocton; Jack (Vicki) Ready of Indiana; Gary Ready of Florida; Theresa Garner of Green Bay; Diane (David) May of Racine; Rodney (Christine) Ready, Douglas Ready, Sandy (Richard) Lyman, Dawn (Marv) Erdman and Robert Ready, all of Shawano. Roy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Angie (Sam) Gruentzel and Annabell (Louis) Wright; brothers: Merlin (Jeanie), Theodore (Dorothy), and Adolph (Marjorie) Bruette.
The funeral liturgy for Roy will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive in Appleton. Fr. Donald Zuleger will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:30 am until the time of mass.
