Rosemary “Rosie” Catherine Coenraad, age 70, passed away on September 10, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on March 4, 1956, to Christian and Alma Jane (Scovronski) Coenraad. Rose grew up in Menasha and graduated from Menasha High School in 1974.

She enjoyed spending time up north with friends. Time around the fire pit was golden. And she enjoyed every “girls’ weekend” and has the sweatshirts to show for it.

Rose had the most laid-back personality and was a lover of all people. She was a hippie at the core of her being. She enjoyed spending time with her family and Memorial Day was a day for an annual cookout. Her grandchildren and time spent with them was the highlight of her life.

Tradition was important for Rose and each holiday season; she hosted the Annual Coenraad Christmas Cookie and Candy Making. This was a tradition passed down from Grandma Cooney. She was also notorious for making a monster batch of Chex mix. Everyone received a gallon size container (or zip lock bag) of the mix. There was no shortage of snacks going home with the participants as they shared candy and cookies as well.

Rose had a wonderful lawn and was proud to have a barefoot ready lawn. She enjoyed sitting in her front room at home or in her backyard enjoying the sun. The warmth of the sun provided warmth and joy for her spirit. Rose acquired a gnome collection. It’s said that she didn’t really like them, but everyone kept giving her gnomes and somehow, they grew on her and she learned to enjoy them. One of her favorites was her gnome tribute to her favorite team-the Green Bay Packers. On game day, each and every gnome was lined up to watch the game!

Rose is survived by her daughter Angela (Russell) Lindsey; grandchildren: Courtney Becher, Nicole Hanshaw, Dylan Hanshaw; great grandchildren: Letti, Levi, Lincoln, Arya. She is further survived by her siblings: Christy (Randy) Rasmussen, Alice (Chip) Backlund, Patty (Perry) Rindfleisch, Ed (Jean) Coenraad; much loved nieces and nephews: Jay, Aaron, Carri, Jennifer, Ryan, Jacob and Lucas; special cousin Jerry Kissinger as well as many other relatives and friends. Rose’s dear friends Bonnie, Barb, Fran and Pat will truly carry on Rosie’s legacy of love and laughter. Momma Rosie will be forever remembered by “her favorite” Baby D, DeAnn Klein who walked every day of this journey with both Rose and Angie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Ryder; husband Kenneth Stroebel, sister Susan Rix, and brother David Coenraad.

A funeral service will take place on Friday September 18, 2026, at 7:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home-Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the service begins.
