Rose Edmondson

Rosemarie Elfriede Edmondson (Basler), age 75 of Appleton, WI passed away on November 21, 2022. She was born to William Basler and Gerda Schmidt on July 12, 1947 in Munich, Germany. Rose graduated from Menasha High School with the class of ’65 and was a stay-at-home mom for several years before transitioning to her professional career with Great Northern Corporation, serving there for over 30 years before retiring as a senior customer service representative.

Rose was an absolute spitfire with a charitable and thoughtful heart. She loved going to movies whenever she could and took occasional trips to the casino as well. Rose was a huge fan of The Voice, especially her long-time crush, Blake Shelton. More than anything, she loved her family, spending as much time with them as she could. Her daughter, Carrie, was the center of her world and treasured her above all things.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, William and Gerda; her sister Margrit Sphatt; and her husband, Ray Edmondson.

Rose is survived by her daughter Carrie and son-in-law Jim Seubert; her siblings Bill Basler, Susan (Bill) Konwal, and Donna (Jeff) Schmidt; her step-daughter and special friend, Karen Sanders; her beloved grand-dog Izzy; her best friend, Paula Endter; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

A memorial visitation will be held for Rose on Monday, November 28 from 4-6pm at Wichmann Funeral Home – Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, WI 54952 with a memorial service to follow at 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Rose’s name for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and some of her favorite local charities.
