Roseann “Rosie” Janice Ohap (Olson), age 74 of Waupaca, WI passed away on August 21, 2026. Roseann was born on November 24, 1951 and raised by her mother, Myrtle Olson (Johnson) in Appleton, WI. She attended Appleton West High School and became a cook for various places throughout her life, but was best known for working at a convent in Chicago. Rosie married Robert “Bob” Ohap at St. Therese Church in Appleton, WI and enjoyed 37 years together before his passing in 2019.

Rosie enjoyed many things, but her cooking was a great example of who she was. Not only was she a cook for various restaurants and the convent, but she also cooked for her friends and family – it was just in her nurturing nature to feed others and pour her love into that craft. She was quite the crafter too, drawing, painting, and making Halloween costumes every year for her kids. Rosie also had a love for dancing with her family. If you were in the home with her, you could often find her at any and all bingo-related events, betting for quarters. More than anything, though, Rosie loved her family and cherished every moment she could spend with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Rosie will be deeply missed by her children, Keith Olson (S.O. Norah), Tena Hinds (S.O. Monte “Shorty”), Lorie (Paul) Barth, and Randy Raddatz; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Liz Spalding and Darlene Guyette; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ohap; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; and several siblings-in-law.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a memorial service to follow at 6 PM. Rosie will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI with her husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local humane society in honor of what Rosie would’ve wanted.

Rosie’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff at Wisconsin Veterans Home and Heartland Hospice, especially nurse Holly, nurse Michelle, and nurse Cindi for all of their compassionate care given to Rosie during her time of need.
