Rosalie Natrop, 84, passed away suddenly on September 16, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born on January 3, 1940, to Martin and Dorothy (DeBruin) Natrop.
Rosalie graduated from St. John High School in Little Chute and went on to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree from Pasadena City College, Pasadena, California. She worked for the Burroughs Corp. in Pasadena, CA and Appleton Machine Co. in Appleton, WI before beginning her career as an office management specialist of foreign service for the department of state. While in the foreign service, she served in the following countries: Bolivia, Honduras, Burma, Romania, Morocco, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Austria, Costa Rica, in addition to Washington D.C. After her retirement in 1998, she continued to serve for short assignments in various African countries. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).
Rosalie was very active, attending classes at the YMCA 3 times a week and participating in a weekly bowling league, a golf league, and a card club. She participated in the Kaukauna Fox Firecracker 5K in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Each year she placed first in her age group of 70-74 (3-peat winner, which is an awesome accomplishment). She also loved to ski when she was younger. Rosalie loved animals and supported the Humane Society. During her travels, she had her cats travel the world with her. There was even an incident when one of her cats ended up in Germany when someone else’s cat came to her in Romania. She was a nature lover, often spending time tending to her flowers in the backyard and watching birds gather at her feeders.
Rosalie is survived by her brothers; James (Peggy) Natrop, Thomas (Sue) Natrop, sister Jacqueline (Randy) Schneider; nieces and nephews: Wayne (Kim) Natrop, Michelle (Ben) Huettl, Michael Natrop, Mike (Jenny) Mrozek, Melanie (Tim) Hanan, and Troy (Kristin) Walsh. She is also survived by many great nephews and nieces. Rosalie had a very special connection with Tom and Sue’s dog, Winnie, who she loved very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Charles Davis; and nephew Todd Walsh.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Rosalie on October 4th from 1-3pm at Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W Wisconsin Ave, Kaukauna WI 54130.
