Roosevelt Wilkerson, Sr.

Roosevelt Wilkerson, age 76 of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday morning at a local nursing home. Roosevelt was born in Arkansas on July 2, 1940, son of the late Willie Wilkerson, Sr. and Inez Bolden Wilkerson.

He leaves behind two sons: Gregory E. Wilkerson of Appleton, Wisconsin and Anthony C. Wilkerson of Pontiac, Illinois; two step-daughters: Deborah Wilkerson of Long Island, New York and April Wilkerson of Appleton, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren: Taneisha, Logan, Ashiara, Justice, Elizabeth, Akasha, Aniah, Dorian, and Sheneka; three great-grandchildren: Jaeden, Jayveon, and Mai-jae; and a brother: Jimmy Wilkerson of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Roosevelt Wilkerson, Jr., his former wife: Dorothy; sisters: Helen and Mae; and brothers: Otis, Sherman, and Willie Wilkerson, Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton on Sunday afternoon, July 24, 2016, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Roosevelt will be buried in an upcoming service in Oakland, California.
