Obituary

Ronald Joseph Fahl, age 70, passed away on October 31, 2026, at Ballard Glenn in Appleton. He was born on October 1, 1956, to Werner and Lorraine (Kica) Fahl. He grew up in Menasha and graduated from Menasha High School. After graduation he began work. His evenings were sometimes spent at Cleo’s. Ron was told that a nice young lady, Rebecca (Becky) Gerhartz, had purchased his drink, so he introduced himself to thank her. She was not the suspect, but the meeting proved fortuitous and they married June 3, 1983. Two sons soon followed and their family was complete.

The family lived in Appleton and Ron worked various manufacturing positions in the area. Ron loved hunting, something he shared with his son Nick. They spent hours in the fall in the deer stands at the family land in Stevenson. That land was truly his favorite place to be. He also enjoyed fishing. Ron also enjoyed remote control airplanes, from building to flying them, they provided a connection to his father who was a flight engineer in WWII.

Ron is survived by his sons Nick (Anna) Fahl, Evan (Kayla) Fahl, grandchildren: Alexis, Anais, Ethan, Jackson, Rylee. In addition, he is survived by his dear friend, confidant and partner Tammy Hipke; siblings: Tom Fahl, Jim (Kathy) Fahl, Nancy (Alan) Brush, Mary (Ty) Wagner; sisters and brothers in law: Ann Fahl, Glenn Schmidt as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca, his parents, brother Bob Fahl and sister Kathy Schmidt.

A memorial service for Ron will take place on Friday November 20, 2026, at 11:00am, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10:00am until the service begins.
