Bob Robinson, age 80, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Bob was born in Appleton on November 30, 1927, son of the late McKinley and Eunice (Wiegand) Robinson. He was a 1945 graduate of Appleton High School, and served in the United States Army as a corporal in the 82nd Field Artillery. Bob was also a member of Harvey Pierre Post #2778 of the V.F.W. For many years, Bob worked in the area printing industry, a career he started right after high school when he began work at Badger Printing. Bob enjoyed movies, theater, and playing bingo.
He is survived by two sisters: Beverly Lyon of Appleton and Joan (Clyde) Schumacher of Kimberly; and eight nieces and nephews: Tom (Linda) Lyon, Jeff (Karen) Lyon, Peggy (Chuck) Reetz, Steve (Ann) Schumacher, Tim (Colleen) Schumacher, Lynn (Barry) Drews, Mark (Wendy) Schumacher, and Lisa Jansen and her fiance Chad Pethke. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law Lincoln Lyon.
The funeral liturgy for Bob will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street in Appleton with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service.
