Robert R. Holcomb

Bob Holcomb, age 66, died at the Appleton Medical Center on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. Bob was born in Appleton on January 16, 1943, son of the late Reuel and Muriel (Brott) Holcomb. He was a 1961 graduate of the Appleton High School, followed by service to his country as a member of the United States Army. On April 21, 1973, he married Julie Lorenz, and together the couple raised two children on Harris Street in Appleton. Over the years, Bob worked at a variety of jobs, including Fox River Paper Company, delivering specialty vehicles, and his last job was delivering auto parts for Schreiter's Auto Supply. He enjoyed buying and selling cars, playing cards, and spending time at home watching television with his trusty companion, Meeka.

Bob is survived by his wife: Julie Holcomb of Neenah; two children: Russ (Alena) Holcomb of Green Bay and their children Gracyn and Brady; and Leanne Holcomb of Minneapolis; two children from a prior marriage, Brenda DeWall and Scott Holcomb; a brother: Clifford (Jackie) Holcomb of Greenville; twin sisters: Janice Tierney and Janet Sal entine, both of Appleton; a brother-in-law: Earl (Linda) Lorenz of Ellison Bay; two sisters-in-law: Sally (Merle) Alix and April (Jake) Jacobs, both of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, John Tierney.

Funeral services for Bob will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of the services. In honor of Bob's memory, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
