Robert P. Koutnik, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Appleton, after a courageous battle with cancer and heart complications. He was born on September 16, 1955, in Appleton, the son of Clifford and Helen (Franzen) Koutnik.
Bob was a 1973 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Menasha. He had a lifelong career of over 40 plus years at Appleton Coated Paper Company (Appvion). After retirement, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Trever and many wonderful trips with his significant other Sue. He enjoyed the love of the great outdoors. If it was watching the birds and deer in his backyard, or sitting by a campfire, Bob loved that all.
Robert will be sadly missed by his son, Trever Koutnik; a grandson, Keaton Koutnik; his daughter, Sherri (Daniel) Kowalske; grandchildren, Daniel Jr. and Ethan Kowalske; his significant other, Susan Krenz; a sister: Teresa (Jim) Karls; and many nieces and nephews, and special friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Renee; a sister: Gloria Van Elzen brothers: Jerome and William Koutnik; and a brother-in-law: Richard Van Elzen.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm, on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St., Menasha. Visitation will be on Monday at the chapel from 3:00 pm until the time of the celebration.
Bob’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at ThedaCare for their care and compassion for Bob.
