Robert Julian Hawkos

Age 82, of Menasha, passed away March 13, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Robert was born November 11, 1926 in Columbus, WI to the late Julian Hamilton Hawkos and Erna (Weber) Hawkos.

Robert was a proud veteran of the U.S Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed football, hunting, and the outdoors. He loved gardening and tending to his vegetables. It was his hobby to cook for family and friends with Willimae, and they also took great pleasure in sharing their common interests.

Robert is survived by his sister: Helen (the late Robert D.) Sheen; niece: Julietta (Matthew) Coburn; his devoted companion of 40 years: Willimae Rider; and numerous dear friends and relatives.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street. Pastor Rich Engle will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Robert will be laid to rest at Bonnet Prairie Cemetery in Rio, Wisconsin. A memorial fund has been established in Robert's name.
