Rita E. Bergner, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Rita was born March 30, 1928 on a farm in Glenmore, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Norbert and Ann Louise Terrien.
She married Marvin Bergner on June 12, 1948 at St. John's Catholic Church in Gillett, Wisconsin. They were married 53 years when Marvin died in 2002.
She was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church in Menasha, Wisconsin. A member of the Rosary Society, Eucharistic Ministers at Theda Clark Hospital for many years she also volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Bank drives and Knights of Columbus fish fries.
Rita is survived by her seven children; Tom and Judy Bergner (Oshkosh), Steve and Gail Bergner (Menasha), Mike and Julie Bergner (Kaukauna), Dick and Barb Bergner (Fremont), Paul and Jody Bergner (Menasha), Lori and Jim Rohde (Menasha), Amy and Duane Pingel (Shiocton).
15 grandchildren; Jay Bergner, Tanya (Ken) Lucas, Kelly Bergner, Angela (Jim) Cuhel, Denis (Michelle) Jahnke, Tera (Todd) Lyons, Peggy (Travis) Gauger, Craig (Jessica) Bergner, Mark Bergner, Scott (Angela) Bergner, Tony (Nicole) Bergner, Nicole (Brian) Besaw, Nathan, Aaron and Matthew Rohde.
10 great grandchildren, Devon Bergner, Kaylee Jackson, Ashlyn Gauger, Jenna Bergner, Lawson Bergner, Taylor, Ian, Evan, Ariana Jahnke and Greg Lyons.
Rita is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Cecelia and Joe Krukowski of Neenah, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother and a brother, Bernard Terrian.
The funeral liturgy for Rita will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Church in Menasha on with the Reverend Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home-Laemmrich Chapel (312 Milwaukee St., Menasha) and again at church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of mass. Interment will be at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
